HeartFelt Yoga has now been closed for almost three weeks. Three weeks feels like a lifetime ago.
How are you adjusting? Are you starting to find a little bit of a routine? Maybe for some of you, you are still working and your routine hasn’t changed much at all. Have you tried some of the amazing online yoga and meditation classes that are being offered? All of the HeartFelt yoga instructors are offering online classes. Please check out our Schedule page to learn more.
My past week or so has been spent nurturing my body with yoga therapy and nurturing my mind with online studies. My back started to complain about a week ago, so I have been doing a lot of yoga therapy practices. I have always felt that the best way for me to learn is to experience. In order to experience, I have been playing around with gentle movement and lots of different props. It has been so fulfilling to have this time to not only take care of my back, but to study and learn in a way I usually don’t have time for.
My online studies have included a lot of time studying with my teacher. His teachings remind me to stay present and aware to what I am feeling during these times. He shares that the only way to experience the world is through the eyes of compassion. What better time to practice this than now? Please remember that compassion begins with yourself. I have seen a few social media posts that remind me that this is my first experience with a world pandemic and not to judge any of my reactions to this. My teacher reminds me to keep my heart open and see my reaction (& the reaction of others) with compassion.
I’m looking at ways to offer online private yoga therapy practices. If this is something you are interested in, please email me at heartfeltblackfalds@gmail.com. Also, I will be posting a couple more slower, therapeutic classes over the next week or two-please keep an eye out for those.
Stay strong,
Sandra
