HeartFelt Yoga was established in 2019, by Sandra Thorne. We are more than a yoga studio, we are a community of seekers, looking for a HeartFelt experience!

Frequently asked questions

HeartFelt Yoga is located at 5025 Parkwood Drive, Blackfalds, AB. This is the same building as Blackfalds Vet clinic, Alpen Dentist and Blackfalds Physiotherapy. The studio is up on the second floor. The second floor is accessible by the stairwell or the elevator. Once up there, follow the signs to the northeast corner of the building.

Please wear comfortable clothes that are easy for you to move around in. We practice yoga in bare feet, so no need to bring fancy running shoes.

If you have a yoga mat, please bring that with you. If you don’t have one, we have mats for you to borrow, and for you to purchase. I would also recommend bringing a water bottle with you.

Yes!! This is a common worry from people who are new to yoga. Our classes, at HeartFelt Yoga, are slow moving. It is our goal that everyone, whether new to yoga or experienced, feels comfortable and supported during class. This is why we only have room for 9 or 10 people in each class. Sandra Thorne, the owner of the studio, has taught for 16 years and gives very clear directions and offers many options for you to find the position to feel most comfortable in.

This depends on the injury. If you are concerned about it, I highly recommend discussing this with your doctor before attending a class.

As mentioned above, at HeartFelt Yoga our classes are slow moving and pretty gentle. Make sure the instructor knows you are new to yoga and she will make sure you feel comfortable with what we are doing, no matter the class you choose to attend. I recommend choosing the class that fits best into your schedule. If you can, attend that class 4 or 5 weeks in a row. It takes a few classes to start to feel comfortable with the movements. Your confidence will grow quite quickly!

Yes, please! HeartFelt Yoga is a small studio space. Most classes have room for 10 people, the Strength & Stability classes have space for nine. Registration is done through Schedulicity. This link can be found on the Classes page or the Workshop page. Registration opens eight days in advance of a class and stays open until an hour beforehand. If you are having difficulties or you aren’t comfortable paying online, please message Sandra through facebook, instagram or send an email to heartfeltblackfalds@gmail.com and we can make other arrangements to save your spot.
